Young Professional Program Compliance, Legal, Risk & Audit

This vacancy is part of a broad development program: the Young Professional Program for the CRO (Chief Risk Officer) domain of the bank, which contains Compliance, Legal and Risk. Audit participates in this program. Due to the collaboration between multiple departments within Rabobank you will get challenged during personal and cross –functional training courses.  For example on core banking (the function of a bank, the balance sheet, capital and funding), as well as on soft skills such as presentation, communication and problem solving skills. Specific (vocational) courses related to your interest or working area are also part of the program. As Young Professional you will join a ‘class’ of talented young professionals. This offers you the opportunity to start building your network, enjoy activities and trainings together and share learning experiences.

By offering you this program, you will have the chance to explore the different aspects of Rabobank. With that experience in mind and based on your interest and background, you will be well prepared/equipped for your career path within Rabobank.

Who are you?

The young professional program is meant for ambitious starters with 0-2 years of working experience and an interest in banking and the financial sector. Key requirement is that you have successfully completed (or are about to complete) a master or bachelor degree (WO/HBO). Furthermore you are competent in both Dutch and English.  More important than your academic background is that you are enthusiastic, learn fast and are able to stand your ground when challenged. You like to take initiative and have a proactive approach. Besides this, you identify with Rabobank’s two core competences Collaboration and Customer Focus.

The program in short

The young professional program is a broad program within Rabobank and is a collaboration between the departments Compliance, Legal, Risk and Audit. In this 1.5-year program you will get the chance to explore the different focus areas of the Audit Rabobank department. With that experience in mind and based on your interest and background, you have the opportunity to customize the program and design your own career path.

Development and coaching

As a young professional within Audit Rabobank, a mentor will be assigned to you who will coach you during the program and help you with developing your career path, in addition an assigned buddy (like minded colleague) will help you with other practical matters. 

Audit Rabobank

The Audit Rabobank department functions as the eyes and ears of the Rabobank supervisory board. We take responsibility to help the organization to take risk responsibly. The mindset of an auditor is not just about setting boundaries and checking (enforced) boundaries. We focus on rapidly understanding complex processes and procedures and help to organization to think outside the box.

Audit Rabobank represents the component of the third line of defense within Rabobank and is responsible for the evaluation of the adequacy, reliability and effectiveness of processes, procedures and transaction processing. Its core responsibilities and challenges are:

  • Independent assurance: Audit Rabobank provides independent assurance, advice and insights to the Executive Board, the Supervisory Board and other senior management of Rabobank.
  • Evaluation of complex matters: Audit Rabobank performs her activities in all parts of the Rabobank.
  • Added value for the organization: Audit Rabobank transforms insights to clear and feasible recommendations, which help the organization to improve.

In 1,5 years, you will get the chance to explore the five different focus areas of Audit Rabobank and develop yourself within a challenging environment.
