Management Traineeship Vopak

Vopak's management traineeship offers a two-year program during which you will get the chance to join a global player with Rotterdam roots. We will take you on a journey into the world of tank storage giving you the opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge about our company and our business, and especially about yourself. We will introduce you to our operational organization, as well as our technical and commercial disciplines. Furthermore, we will challenge you to think about who you are, and your (future) potential by taking personal development courses. In doing so, you will discover your strengths and be able to align your preference with a particular discipline.

The program  in bullet points:

• Two assignments, on two different locations, within two different disciplines;
• An in-depth personal development program;
• A Senior Manager as a mentor and counseling by a  traineecoördinator;
• At the end of the first year, and after finishing the traineeship your performance will be reviewed and assessed to monitor your (personal) growth.

This means that right from the start in September 2020, together with the other trainees, you will take part in our introductory program. Meaning, you will get to know Vopak: the principles of tank storage, the different terminal locations and of course your Vopak colleagues! To ensure a smooth start, while getting to know our company and all the activities, you will also participate in a shift within operations at one of our terminals.

After completion of the two-year traineeship, you will have the chance to continue your career within Vopak.

Your qualifications and skills as a Management trainee

Our Management Traineeship is suitable for students with a Master's degree in various specializations and studies. However, our preference goes out to graduates with a background in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/E&I), Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration, Finance and IT.

We are also open to international applicants, we do however prefer candidates who are already living in the Netherlands and possess advanced Dutch language skills (language level >B2). As we are a global company, with 66 terminal locations, it is very important to us that the use of the English language, in speaking and writing, is not an issue for you.

Besides the international mindset and the required language skills, it is essential to us that you also possess certain characteristics such as persuasiveness, optimism, and that you are persistent in the achievement of whatever you set your mind to. At the same time, we like to see that you are able to be open and honest about your weaknesses and that you are able to own up to your mistakes. In other words, you are capable of pursuing your vision with a certain degree of straightforwardness, creativity and entrepreneurship.

In bullet points this means that you possess:

• University (WO) Master's degree graduates, in the final stage of completion (thesis)
• Less than 2 years of (relevant) work experience;
• Excellent Dutch and English languages skills (at least B2 level);
• Willing to travel;
• Fulltime available per September 2020;
• Entrepreneurial mindset, eagerness to learn, innovative, critical thinker and a go-getter.
